Terms of Service

The terms you agree to when using buitedieboksAFRIKAANS

Effective 30 July 2026

These terms govern your use of the buitedieboksAFRIKAANS learning platform. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. If you are using the platform through a school or tutor, your school's own rules apply as well.

1. Who we are

The platform is operated by OUTSIDETHEBOX (PTY) LTD (registration 2025/944907/07), trading as buitedieboksAFRIKAANS. Contact: support@buitedieboks.com.

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You need an account to use the platform. To join a school or class you need an access code issued by that school or tutor — you cannot add yourself to a class without one.

If you are under 18, a parent, guardian or your school must agree to these terms on your behalf, and your account is normally created by your school or tutor.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@buitedieboks.com if you think someone else has access to it.

3. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • share your account, sit an assessment as someone else, or let someone else sit one as you;
  • share, republish, resell or upload our course materials elsewhere, including memos, answer keys and downloadable files;
  • attempt to access work, marks, classes or accounts that are not yours, or probe, scrape or interfere with the platform;
  • upload anything unlawful, abusive, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • use the platform to send spam or unsolicited marketing.

Assessments may be monitored for integrity as described in the Privacy Policy. Suspected dishonesty is reported to your teacher, tutor or school, who decide what happens academically.

4. Course content and intellectual property

Course materials, questions, memos, videos and the platform itself belong to OUTSIDETHEBOX (PTY) LTD (registration 2025/944907/07) or to the teachers and tutors who created them. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own learning or teaching for as long as your access lasts.

Files you download are watermarked with the buitedieboksAFRIKAANS mark and a copyright notice. Sharing them outside the platform is a copyright violation.

Work you submit stays yours. By submitting it you allow us and your school to store, mark, re-mark and report on it as part of running the course.

5. Marks, attempts and reports

Marks shown in the platform are provisional until your teacher or tutor confirms them. Marks may be re-marked or corrected — every change is logged with who made it and when. Where a mark and a report disagree, your school's own record decides.

The number of attempts at an assessment, deadlines, and whether a late submission counts are set by your school or tutor, not by us.

6. Packages and payment

Access is granted through codes and packages arranged with your school, tutor or with us directly. Payment is arranged off the platform; no card details are entered into or stored by this site.

Where a package has been paid for and access has not been provided, contact support@buitedieboks.com. Refunds are handled under the arrangement you made with whoever sold you the access.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may take it down for maintenance, and we may change or remove features. Where a change materially affects how you use the platform, we will announce it in the platform.

8. Suspension and ending access

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or at the request of the school or tutor that issued its access. You may stop using the platform at any time and ask us to delete your account — see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your information.

Where a school ends its relationship with us, learner accounts under that school may lose access to that school's courses.

9. Liability

The platform is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data caused by something outside our control, or for decisions your school makes on the basis of information in the platform. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date above shows when they last changed, and material changes will be announced in the platform. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept it.
